Customs officers at Paphos Airport intercepted €199,950 in undeclared cash concealed in 13 socks stuffed into shoes. The cash was discovered during a physical search of the luggage of a Ukrainian passenger who flew in from Dublin. Prompted by a tip-off from the Office for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS), customs used an X-ray screening which led them to the hidden cash. The seizure was referred to the Customs Headquarters Investigations Section for further investigation.
