Customs officers at the Ayios Dometios crossing point confiscated undeclared cash and cheques totaling over €598,000. The seizure occurred during routine checks under the Green Line Regulation. An Israeli citizen driving a rental vehicle was found carrying €29,300 in cash, primarily in €100 and €200 notes, and 39 cheques from Israeli banks totaling approximately 1,903,500 Israeli shekels (around €569,000). The driver admitted that the funds had not been declared upon his arrival at Larnaca airport.
