Customs officials at the Agios Dometios crossing point confiscated over €598,000 in cash and cheques from a driver on May 21. The seizure included €29,300 in cash and 39 Israeli bank cheques valued at nearly €569,000. The routine search occurred during Green Line Regulation checks where a rental car was inspected. The items, found in €100 and €200 notes alongside the cheques, were undisclosed at Larnaca Airport upon the man's arrival from Israel. The driver clarified that the money originated from outside the occupied north. The seized assets and case details have been forwarded to the Customs Headquarters Investigations Section for in-depth analysis.
