💰 National Bank of Greece Buys Back 465,000 Shares for Over €6.4 Million

In a recent move, the National Bank of Greece announced it had bought back 465,000 of its own shares between May 14, 2026, and May 22, 2026. The transaction, part of its share buyback program, cost a total of €6,428,301, with an average price of €13.8243 per share. This step aligns with the directives from their Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on May 30, 2025, and has received the necessary approval from the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism.

The shares, traded on the Athens Stock Exchange, will eventually be cancelled in accordance with legal requirements. Following this acquisition, National Bank of Greece holds approximately 1.88% of its total share capital, amounting to 17,208,858 own shares. This strategic buyback is aimed at enhancing shareholder value and reflects the bank's financial management acumen.
