Larnaca's Mayor Andreas Vyras announced that the Ports Authority will unveil a detailed redevelopment plan for the Larnaca port and marina by June 30. This initiative aims to transform the port into a dual-purpose facility catering to both tourist and commercial needs, and to expand and modernize the marina to hold around 200 boats. Additionally, the project includes the development of 50,000 square meters of adjacent land for urban use, aligning with local development priorities.

The plan also encompasses the unification of the Larnaca waterfront, providing uninterrupted access between the marina and port areas. These upgrades follow the government's dissolution of its prior agreement with Kition Ocean Holdings due to financial disputes. Once cabinet approval is secured, both port and marina operations will fully revert to the Ports Authority, ensuring more streamlined and efficient development processes under one umbrella.
