🌴 Famagusta launches major online tourism campaign targeting UK, EU and Eastern Mediterranean for 2026
Famagusta has launched a major online tourism campaign for 2026 aimed at boosting the region’s image, competitiveness and tourist arrivals while extending the season beyond summer. The Famagusta regional tourism board (Etap) said the initiative is “one of the largest and most organised digital promotion efforts ever carried out for the free district of Famagusta.” The campaign is being implemented for a third consecutive year by the Famagusta Hoteliers Association in cooperation with Etap, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the municipalities of Ayia Napa and Paralimni‑Deryneia, the Bank of Cyprus and local tourism businesses.
The coordinated effort targets key markets including the UK, Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden, as well as countries in the wider Eastern Mediterranean. It uses social media, digital media, search engines and specialised travel sites and includes audiovisual materials and thematic content to highlight Protaras, Ayia Napa and the Famagusta hinterland. The campaign emphasizes award‑winning beaches, modern infrastructure, Cypriot hospitality and gastronomy, while promoting alternative tourism, cultural and sports events and family and experiential holidays as part of Etap’s broader international strategy.
