👮 Police conduct over 750 checks across Cyprus, arrest 8 individuals in targeted operations
Cyprus police carried out more than 750 checks on citizens and premises nationwide, resulting in 304 violations and the arrest of eight individuals for various offenses including theft, illegal stay, possession of narcotics, and assault on an officer. These organized patrols aimed to prevent serious crimes and ensure public safety.
During the night operations, authorities stopped and inspected 629 drivers and 131 passengers, conducted 44 premise inspections leading to six complaints, and issued 295 traffic violation notices. Notably, 83 drivers were fined for speeding, three were caught driving under the influence, and four vehicles were detained.
The police have emphasized that these preventive measures and increased patrols will continue daily to enhance public security and maintain order across urban areas in Cyprus.
