💰 Cyprus Employers Federation praises EU Council Presidency, calls for faster reforms to boost business

The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (Oev) has welcomed the successful completion of Cyprus' six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union, highlighting that it enhanced the country's international standing. The federation praised the Presidency's management during a period marked by geopolitical instability and economic challenges, applauding the effective coordination by the President of the Republic and public officials.

Oev emphasized that progress was made on key European policy areas including economic competitiveness, the Single Market, enlargement, migration, defence, and security. However, the federation stressed the need for European institutions to accelerate reforms aimed at reducing administrative burdens and improving the business environment, pointing out that tangible benefits for businesses remain limited.

Committed to promoting growth and prosperity, Oev reaffirmed its dedication to the strategic roadmap 'From Ambition to Action' approved in April 2026. The federation pledged to continue supporting reforms to strengthen Cyprus’s long-term economic competitiveness and enhance the domestic business climate.
