The Goethe-Institut in Nicosia will present its seventh annual Sommerkino film series, Between Waves, from July 6 to 10. Featuring a curated selection of German films focused on the theme of water, the screenings will take place in the institute's garden with the iconic Ledra Palace Hotel as a backdrop. All films will be shown at 8 pm with free admission and English subtitles.

The series opens with "22 Lengths," a story of sibling resilience, followed by "Skin Deep," about a young couple confronting identity on a remote island. Other highlights include "Beyond the Blue Border," portraying a Baltic Sea swim during East-West German border crossing, and "Alaska," depicting a solitary kayak journey. The closing film on July 10, "Afire" by Christian Petzold, explores self-reflection amid the climate crisis.
