👮 Six arrests made during targeted police operations across Cyprus
During the night, Cyprus police conducted targeted preventive operations across urban areas to deter serious crime and ensure public safety. As a result, six individuals were arrested for offenses including illegal drug possession, domestic violence, and unlawful stay in the country.
The operations involved stopping 358 vehicles and checking 440 people, alongside 46 inspections of premises, leading to three reported violations. Traffic enforcement yielded 234 citations for various offenses, with 38 speeding and five cases of driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, two cases involved driving under the influence of drugs following preliminary testing.
Authorities detained 13 vehicles as part of ongoing investigations. Enhanced police presence and focused checks will continue daily to maintain order, protect citizens, and curb criminal activity across Cyprus.
