🔥 Two firefighters hospitalized after large fire at Aradippou frozen food factory
Two firefighters were hospitalized after inhaling smoke while battling a major fire at a frozen food factory in Aradippou. The blaze broke out around noon and quickly spread across the entire factory, threatening nearby buildings. Both firefighters are reported to be in good condition.
Fire crews from Larnaca, Nicosia, Vassiliko Fire Station, and EMAK deployed seven fire engines, a breathing apparatus vehicle, and a hydraulic telescopic platform to contain the fire. A water tanker was also requested from the Department of Forests to support firefighting efforts. A forward control center has been set up at the scene.
Authorities closed roads leading to the industrial zone, banning vehicle entry due to dense black smoke visible across Larnaca and from the highway. Emergency services including the Ambulance Service and Department of Labour Inspection are on site as a precaution while firefighters work to prevent the blaze from spreading and search the building for anyone trapped inside.
