🌍 President Christodoulides meets Greek-American and Cypriot-American students on Eastern Mediterranean issues

President Nikos Christodoulides met with Greek-American and Cypriot-American students visiting from the United States to discuss the Cyprus problem, Cyprus-US relations, and the island’s strategic role in the Eastern Mediterranean. The students are part of the American Hellenic Institute’s annual foreign policy programme, now in its 18th year.

During the visit to the presidential palace, AHI president Nick Larigakis presented Christodoulides with a plaque commemorating the 250th anniversary of US independence. The students engaged in discussions on regional cooperation, dialogue with the Turkish Cypriot community, and ways the diaspora can support Cyprus and Greece.

The students also toured key locations including Larnaca and northern Cyprus, as well as the Cyprus Centre for Land, Open Seas and Port Security. Many expressed a strong desire to advocate for Cyprus and Greece in the US, through lobbying and raising awareness about the Cyprus issue and Eastern Mediterranean geopolitical matters.
