🛩️ Belgian man airlifted to Nicosia after falling ill on vessel near Paphos

A 67-year-old Belgian man was airlifted to Nicosia General Hospital after falling ill aboard a passenger vessel approximately 110 nautical miles northwest of Paphos. Cypriot authorities responded promptly, activating the national search-and-rescue plan, NEARCHOS.

A helicopter from the police Air Operations Unit carried out the rescue mission with a specialized nurse from the state health services’ emergency team on board to provide medical assistance during the flight.

The patient was safely transported to the hospital for further treatment, highlighting the coordinated efforts of emergency services to ensure maritime safety in Cyprus waters.
