Larnaca Salt Lake in Cyprus has once again turned pink, a natural phenomenon linked to rising temperatures. The warmer weather increases the lake's salinity, creating ideal conditions for algae and brine shrimp to thrive, which give the water its distinctive pink hue. This event typically lasts for only a few weeks each year.

In spring, the lake appears pink for a different reason, as it hosts migrating flamingos whose pink color comes from consuming the same organisms responsible for the lake's temporary change in color. Larnaca Salt Lake is part of the Natura 2000 European network, highlighting its status as a protected natural environment. The yearly pink transformation attracts attention for its unique ecological significance.
