🪦 Police expedite toxicology and histopathology results in investigation of 1-year-old boy's death in Limassol
Authorities in Limassol are speeding up the release of toxicology and histopathology results to determine the cause of death of a one-year-old boy who passed away last Thursday at a local hospital. The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department is treating the case as unnatural, although the family has not lodged any complaints of medical negligence.
The child was initially diagnosed with gastroenteritis and developed a fever before being treated by a pediatrician. His condition deteriorated, leading to hospitalization where doctors were unable to save him. Police continue to conduct intensive investigations, including taking statements from the family and others involved.
The final cause of death remains unknown pending laboratory results from samples taken during the autopsy. Once investigations conclude, the case will be forwarded to the Legal Service for further action.
