🌴 Cyprus tourism sees manageable impact despite 4.9% drop in arrivals amid resumed Kuwait flights

Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis reported that the tourism sector in Cyprus has so far managed the impacts of recent regional developments, despite a 4.9 percent decline in arrivals in May 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. This slight drop is consistent with figures from 2024, suggesting stable conditions amid current challenges.

Koumis emphasized the ministry's commitment to closely monitoring air connections and market trends to support tourism recovery. During a meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador Abdullah Alturki, the resumption of flights between Cyprus and Kuwait was announced, marking a positive step for boosting tourism relations between the two nations.

Highlighting the excellent bilateral ties, Koumis stressed ongoing efforts to increase direct flight frequency and extend flight durations, aiming to enhance tourist interest and strengthen collaboration with Kuwait in the tourism sector.
