🎉 Spanish Production of Euripides' The Trojan Women Opens 29th International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama
The Spanish production of Euripides' The Trojan Women, directed by Carlota Ferrer, will inaugurate the 29th International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama. The performance is scheduled for July 3 and 4 at the Curium Ancient Theatre in Limassol district.
Produced by Come y Calla Productions in collaboration with the Mérida International Classical Theatre Festival, the play stars acclaimed actress Isabel Ordaz as Hecuba. The drama portrays the harrowing fate of the women of Troy following the city's fall, emphasizing the themes of memory, trauma, and silent resistance.
Premiering in 2025 to critical acclaim, this contemporary adaptation combines text with music, movement, and visual effects to highlight the brutality of war, particularly its impact on women as bearers of memory and suffering. Tickets are priced at €16, with performances starting at 9pm.
