🌍 Cyprus President to Meet Tony Blair on Gaza Reconstruction Plans
President Nikos Christodoulides is scheduled to meet former British Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair on Monday to discuss proposals for Gaza’s future governance and reconstruction. The meeting is part of renewed diplomatic efforts in the region amid ongoing international attention to Gaza.
Blair is involved with the Gaza Board of Peace initiative, which will hold meetings in Cyprus at the end of June and beginning of July. Cyprus officials emphasized that the country is not organizing these meetings but is参与ating in discussions related to UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and proposals for Gaza’s administration.
Cyprus’ contribution builds on its "Amalthea" initiative, a humanitarian aid corridor to Gaza, and cooperates with the UAE and the UN Office for Project Services. The meetings aim to explore frameworks for demilitarization and governance transfer to a Palestinian technocratic body, aligning with international peace efforts and regional stability goals.
