🔥 Fire in Trachoni, Limassol Controlled After Injuries and Extensive Firefighting Efforts
A fire that broke out in dry grass and wild vegetation in the Trachoni area of Limassol has been brought under control. Fire services continue their operations to secure the area and prevent flare-ups. During the incident, firefighters focused on protecting nearby homes.
Three people were injured while attempting to safeguard their properties, with two residents suffering minor burns to their hands and a third person experiencing respiratory issues. An ambulance was called to assist the injured individuals.
The firefighting operation involved multiple resources, including three staffed Fire Service vehicles, three vehicles from the British Bases, two excavators, and a Portable Fire Unit from the Kourion municipality. Volunteer groups Atlas and Blue Heart, along with two aircraft from the Air Firefighting Unit, also supported the efforts. Teams remain on site to ensure full containment and prevent reignition.
