🧒 Cyprus Nationwide Exams Conclude, Results Expected by July 24

The nationwide exams in Cyprus have concluded with the final mathematics common core exam, taken by over 2,000 candidates. The head of the Examination Service, Socratis Mylonas, stated that the goal is to announce the results by July 24, provided the schedule is maintained.

Mylonas confirmed the examination period proceeded smoothly without major issues or confirmed cheating incidents. One suspected case of fraud was investigated but found to be unfounded. Grading has already begun, though several steps remain before finalizing results, which will also include the allocation of university placements.

Clarifying the purpose of these exams, Mylonas noted they aim to rank candidates fairly for university admissions, different from high school graduation exams. He emphasized the current system with separate exams better serves the distinct goals of assessing knowledge and establishing merit-based selections for public universities.
