The University of Nicosia Medical School celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026 on June 23, awarding degrees in Medicine, Family Medicine, and Public Health. The ceremony was marked by the conferral of an honorary Doctor of Science (Medicine) degree to Dr Eric Topol, a leading expert on artificial intelligence in medicine and Founder of the Scripps Research Translational Institute.

In his commencement address, Dr Topol emphasized the integral role of AI in transforming healthcare while reminding graduates of the enduring importance of empathy and human connection in medical practice. He encouraged graduates to embrace innovation, lifelong learning, and adapt as medicine evolves.

The event also featured remarks by Medical School Dean Professor Adonis Ioannides, University Rector Professor Philippos Pouyioutas, and Minister of Health Neophytos Charalambides, who highlighted the graduates' dedication and the balance of scientific excellence with compassion.
