🌴 Paphos tourism board reports strong engagement with smart signage initiative in 2025 and 2026

The Paphos regional board of tourism (Etap Paphos) has seen significant success with its smart signage initiative, aimed at enhancing visitor information across the district. Since its launch, more than 140,000 QR code scans were recorded throughout 2025, with over 43,000 scans logged just in the first half of 2026 across 150 smart signs.

Popular sites engaging visitors include Panagia Chrysopolitissa, the Monastery of Agios Neophytos, and Kremmiotis Waterfall, among others. International users mainly hail from the UK, Poland, Germany, Israel, and Greece. The system offers multi-language support and diverse content such as audio guides, videos, and 360-degree virtual tours.

Continuing into 2026, the program is expanding with additional signs being installed in key locations like Nikokleia and Polis Chrysochous. The board emphasizes that digitalisation, sustainability, and cultural heritage promotion remain central to their strategy for year-round tourism development in Paphos.
