Limassol-based Island Oil (Holdings) Ltd has acquired two oil tankers, Island Polaris and Island Horizon, as part of its long-term strategy to strengthen marine fuel transportation in the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions. The double-hull vessels aim to enhance operational efficiency, fuel efficiency, and environmental compliance in line with the company’s ESG and decarbonisation goals.
CEO Chrysostomos Papavassiliou highlighted that the acquisition supports the company’s growth plans by improving service reliability and capacity across its marine logistics network. He emphasized the commitment to sustainable value and confidence in the maritime sector’s future.
