The last joint session of the outgoing bicameral parliament was held on June 30, marking the end of an era after three decades. Tokayev praised the outgoing parliament for significant legal reforms and emphasized that the new parliament will prioritize economic growth, inflation reduction, and improved public administration.
Additionally, the major political party Amanat merged into the new Adilet party, which now boasts around one million members, further consolidating political influence. The Constitutional Court celebrated the new Constitution, highlighting its focus on sovereignty, rule of law, and human rights. The Constitution also resets presidential term limits, allowing Tokayev eligibility for future terms.
