🏗️ Fifth phase of Prigkipos Karolos Avenue upgrade starts July 9 with traffic changes in Nicosia
The fifth phase of construction on Prigkipos Karolos Avenue in Ayios Dometios and part of Achaeon Street in Nicosia will begin at 11pm on Thursday, July 9, the municipality announced. Scheduled to last six months, this phase focuses on continuing work on the northern section of the avenue while reopening the Achaeon Street section, including its junction with Delphon Street, to traffic.
During the works, Prigkipos Karolos Avenue will operate as a one-way street westbound towards Ayios Dometios. Traffic diversions will be clearly signposted. Access to Nicosia Polyclinic will remain available via the Achaeon and Delphon streets junction.
The €2.23 million project, co-funded by the EU's 2021-2027 Cohesion Policy programme, involves multiple upgrades including improvements to stormwater drainage, pavements, cycling infrastructure, green spaces, utility networks, roadside parking, and street lighting.
