👮 Sixth suspect arrested in Larnaca shooting case; two remain at large
Cyprus police have arrested the sixth suspect in connection with the shooting incident that occurred in central Larnaca on January 17. The 33-year-old suspect was brought before the Larnaca criminal court on Monday and will be added to the indictment alongside five other accused individuals who deny involvement. The suspects, aged between 20 and 48, face charges including conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal possession of firearms and explosives, extortion, participation in a criminal organisation, and assault causing bodily harm.
Authorities continue to seek two more suspects, aged 26 and 27, believed to be involved in the violent incident. The case stems from a broader investigation into the January confrontation near a police station, where gunshots were fired during disputes allegedly related to protection money demands. The next court hearing is scheduled for September 28.
