Finance Minister Makis Keravnos will travel to Brussels on July 9 and 10 to participate in the Eurogroup and ECOFIN Council meetings, where EU finance ministers will discuss fiscal policy, digital finance, artificial intelligence, and economic competitiveness. The Eurogroup meeting will focus on fiscal developments in the euro area and the international role of the euro, with a special emphasis on the impact of emerging technologies on the financial sector, including AI and cybersecurity. A declaration on digital finance is also expected to be adopted.

On July 10, Keravnos will join the ECOFIN Council to discuss the Market Integration and Supervision Package aimed at deepening the EU single market for financial services and enhancing the bloc's economic competitiveness. The meeting will also cover topics such as the economic impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, approval of revised Recovery and Resilience Plans for several member states, and recommendations on fiscal policies. Additionally, ministers will approve the EU's representation at the upcoming G20 finance ministers meeting. A working dinner on energy security and economic resilience will follow the Eurogroup meeting on July 9.
