🌴 Yiannos Pantazis elected new president of Cyprus hoteliers association Pasyxe

The Cyprus hoteliers association Pasyxe has elected Yiannos Pantazis as its new president, succeeding Thanos Michaelides who stepped down after three years. The leadership change occurred during Pasyxe’s annual general meeting in Nicosia, which also marked the association's 90th anniversary and featured the launch of a new digital platform, Xenios Analytics, aimed at enhancing decision-making across the hotel sector.

Pantazis pledged to strengthen the progress of Cyprus’ hotel industry and tourism, while praising his predecessor’s contributions. The new board for 2026–2029 includes several key members and aims to support the industry amid ongoing regional challenges.

Michaelides highlighted Cyprus' tourism recovery with over 4.5 million arrivals and revenues nearing €3.7 billion in 2025, but cautioned that Middle East tensions have introduced uncertainties affecting hotel occupancy. Pasyxe is advocating for measures to increase sector resilience, including a permanent crisis management team and streamlined licensing procedures. President Nikos Christodoulides praised Pasyxe’s role and expressed confidence in continued cooperation under the new leadership.
