📰 University of Nicosia ranks in global Top 600 in THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026
The University of Nicosia (UNIC) has been ranked among the top 600 universities globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026. This places UNIC within the 401-600 band out of 1,646 universities evaluated from 116 countries and territories, underscoring its regional strength and growing international visibility.
UNIC achieved particularly strong results in key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranking between 101-200 globally for SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These results highlight the university’s commitment to meaningful partnerships and measurable societal impact at both local and international levels.
Professor Philippos Pouyioutas, Rector of UNIC, emphasized that the ranking reflects the university’s dedication to impactful education, research, and collaboration. The achievement reinforces UNIC’s reputation as a modern, outward-looking institution contributing actively to global sustainability agendas and social progress.
