A 73-year-old jewellery shop owner was injured on Monday morning while resisting an attempted armed robbery in central Larnaca, police reported. The incident occurred around 9am when a man wearing a motorcycle helmet, black shirt, and a food delivery vest entered the store and threatened the owner with a gun. During a struggle, the suspect struck the owner on the head, causing an injury that required stitches. Despite the injury, the owner managed to force the suspect out of the shop. The suspect then fled the scene in a waiting vehicle, believed to have been driven by a second person. Police investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible.
