💰 Cyprus' Industrial Turnover Index Rises 4.6% in April 2026 Led by Manufacturing Growth
Cyprus’ Industrial Turnover Index increased by 4.6 percent in April 2026, reaching 143.1 units, driven mainly by strong performance in the manufacturing sector, according to data from the Statistical Service (Cystat). For the first four months of 2026, the index saw a cumulative 3.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025. Manufacturing turnover rose 5.1 percent in April and 3.7 percent year-on-year from January to April, with basic metals, fabricated metal products, and wood manufacturing showing particularly robust growth.
Other industrial sectors such as mining and quarrying grew by 5.6 percent in April, while water supply and materials recovery increased by 5.5 percent. Electricity supply rose modestly by 1.3 percent in April. Export market turnover grew by 6 percent in April but declined slightly over the first four months, whereas the local market index rose consistently. The index excludes sewerage and waste disposal activities but includes key industrial sectors such as mining, manufacturing, electricity, and water supply.
