A juvenile whale measuring approximately 4.15 meters and weighing 1.5 tonnes was found dead on Kazivera beach on Cyprus's northern western coast on Thursday. The carcass was transported to Tashkent Nature Park in Kyrenia for a necropsy to determine the cause of death. Environmental nonprofit Taskent Doga Parki highlighted that such incidents serve as important warnings from the marine ecosystem about threats like ship strikes, ghost nets, and underwater noise.

The organization urged the public to avoid approaching stranded marine mammals and instead report sightings to authorities to help identify causes and prevent future deaths. They emphasized the collective responsibility to protect ocean health. Similar events are rare but have occurred recently, including a dead whale found in February near Akanthou in the Famagusta district.
