🧒 Thousands attend Robotex Cyprus 2026 showcasing robotics and AI innovations
Robotex Cyprus 2026, the largest robotics festival in Cyprus, attracted thousands of visitors to the University of Cyprus Sports Centre on June 27-28. The event hosted 700 participants from schools, universities, and the public competing in over 20 robotics challenges, including drone competitions, SUMO robot battles, and a Girls Firefighting contest aimed at encouraging female participation in STEAM.
Significant highlights included the use of artificial intelligence in projects centered on sustainable development and interactive activities such as Drone Soccer and Human versus Robot chess. Cyprus continues its strong legacy in robotics, with winning teams earning the right to represent the country at the Robotex International finals in South Korea, the first time the event will be held outside Estonia.
The festival was supported by the Research and Innovation Foundation as Diamond Sponsor and saw participation from government officials and industry leaders. Organised by the Cyprus Computer Society in partnership with academic and youth organisations, the event emphasized innovation, education, and community involvement in advancing research and technology skills among young people.
