🌍 Greek and Turkish Cypriot sides hold UN meetings ahead of Special Envoy Holguin's July visit
Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders are continuing separate meetings with United Nations representatives on key issues related to the Cyprus problem. These discussions are part of the preparatory efforts for the upcoming visit of UN Special Envoy Maria Angela Holguin to Cyprus later this month.
Holguin, who last visited Cyprus in early June, has urged Cypriots to seize the current opportunity for a resolution. During her previous visit, she met with President Nikos Christodoulides, Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman, and various civil society groups. Following her Cyprus engagement, Holguin is scheduled to travel to Brussels for further talks in mid-July.
The ongoing meetings underscore the UN’s active involvement in facilitating dialogue and pursuing a comprehensive solution to the long-standing Cyprus division.
