University of Cyprus to launch first English-taught undergraduate programmes with tuition fees up to €25,000
The University of Cyprus will introduce four English-taught undergraduate degree programmes starting in the 2027 academic year, with tuition fees up to €25,000 annually following cabinet approval. This marks the university’s first expansion into fully English-language undergraduate education. The new programmes include Medicine (MD) with a €25,000 fee and three business and economics degrees charging €10,000 per year.
The courses respond to modern labour market needs and include intake quotas: up to 30 students for Medicine and 35 for the business and economics programmes. Domestic students taking the Pan-Cyprian Examinations can compete for additional places, boosting local enrolment. University officials expect strong demand from both Cypriot and international applicants.
The tuition fees reflect financial sustainability considerations and are competitive with private sector rates. Rector Tasos Christofides confirmed that a detailed official announcement on application criteria and procedures will be published in September as preparations for the programme launch continue.
