Eleven flights diverted from Cyprus airports due to severe storms
Eleven flights scheduled to land in Cyprus were diverted on Saturday as severe storms swept across the island. Five flights destined for Larnaca airport were redirected to Paphos, while two others bound for Larnaca and Paphos were diverted to Rhodes. Some of the planes had to temporarily park at these alternate airports due to the adverse weather.
Hermes Airports confirmed that as the severe weather moved away, the diverted aircraft began departing from their temporary locations and returning to Cyprus airports. By Saturday afternoon, the flight situation had reportedly normalized, and normal airport operations resumed on the island. The disruptions were swiftly managed to minimize inconvenience for travelers.
