Investigation ongoing after assault and police car damaged in Limassol
Police in Limassol are probing an assault involving a 23-year-old man who was attacked outside a kiosk in the Agios Nikolaos area by five individuals. The victim sustained bruises and grazes and was treated at Limassol General Hospital. Following the assault, a group of about ten masked and helmeted people aggressively approached a police patrol car, damaging its windscreen with a bat before fleeing the scene.
Authorities have launched investigations into charges including actual bodily harm, possession of offensive weapons, and malicious damage. The Minor Offences Department and Limassol CID are examining whether the same group was responsible for both the assault and the subsequent attack on police officers. The inquiry remains ongoing with law enforcement working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
