Passenger traffic between Chisinau and Larnaca nearly triples in 2025
Passenger traffic on the Chisinau–Larnaca route saw a significant surge in 2025, nearly tripling compared to the previous year. According to Moldova’s Civil Aviation Authority, 78,912 passengers travelled between the two cities in 2025, up from 26,988 in 2024, marking a 192.4% increase. This rapid growth has made Larnaca one of the fastest-growing destinations from Moldova’s capital.
SkyUp Airlines announced it will continue operating direct scheduled flights between Chisinau and Larnaca during the 2027 summer season, from March 26 to October 30. The airline attributes the route’s success to rising demand for convenient air connectivity that supports tourism, business travel, and visits between Cyprus and Moldova.
Overall, passenger numbers at Chisinau International Airport increased by 46.8% in 2025, reaching a record 6.08 million travelers. SkyUp Airlines, which launched scheduled services from Moldova in April 2025, carried over three million passengers and operated nearly 20,000 flights across its network during the year.
