Five Cypriot Mountaineers to Climb Mount Olympus in Solidarity with Children Fighting Cancer
Five mountaineers from Cyprus are set to climb Mount Olympus in Greece next week to show solidarity with children battling cancer and leukaemia. The group will tackle the challenging ascent to Mytikas, the mountain's highest peak at 2,917 metres, from Wednesday to Sunday.
This initiative is a follow-up to the 'Hope and Love' marathon held two years ago, where around 500 Cypriot runners participated in the Athens Marathon to support young cancer patients. The Elpida foundation for children with cancer and leukaemia stated that each step towards the summit represents a message of courage, love, and solidarity for affected children and their families.
Mount Olympus, renowned in Greek mythology as the home of the twelve Olympian gods, continues to attract climbers and pilgrims. With this climb, the mountaineers aim to raise hope for every child worldwide who deserves treatment and a chance at life.
