Cyprus invites researchers to join 2026–2027 Researchers in Schools programme
The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) in Cyprus has opened expressions of interest for the 2026–2027 "Researchers in Schools" programme, inviting researchers and organisations to engage with primary, secondary, and technical schools. For the first time, research organisations may also host pupil groups at their own facilities, providing students with a direct experience of research environments.
The initiative, launched in 2022–2023, aims to connect Cyprus’ research community with students and teachers, promoting awareness of how research impacts daily life and encouraging STEAM careers. Visits will be scheduled around international days related to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, with activities planned from November 2026 through May 2027.
Schools from nearly all districts, including remote areas, are expected to participate. The RIF will match researchers with schools while considering preferences and availability, and may cover certain travel and equipment transportation costs. Expressions of interest are open until September 30, 2026.
