Police issue 12 fines on first day of hunting season in Cyprus
On the opening day of the hunting season in Cyprus, the police issued 12 fines following 300 inspections conducted islandwide. The offenses included transporting assembled hunting firearms in vehicles, pursuing game in prohibited areas, and carrying hunting weapons into restricted zones.
Additionally, the Stroumbi Police Station is investigating two men aged 39 and 42 for illegal possession and transportation of hunting firearms. These individuals were caught hunting in a non-permitted area and were fined for pursuing game and carrying weapons in forbidden zones.
Authorities have affirmed that checks will continue throughout the hunting season to ensure public safety, prevent violations, and enforce compliance with legislation.
