Six Arrested in Cyprus Nationwide Police Operation Targeting Crime and Public Safety
The Cyprus police conducted a nationwide, organized patrol operation last night focusing on preventing serious crimes, maintaining public order, and enhancing citizens' safety. The operation led to the arrest of six individuals for offenses including car theft, illegal residency, drug possession, and assault on a police officer.
During the nighttime actions, 446 drivers and 131 passengers were stopped and checked, 38 commercial premises were inspected resulting in two violations reported, and 246 traffic violations were recorded. Among these, 68 were for speeding, eight vehicles were impounded, and there were cases of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
With 162 alcohol tests conducted and multiple drug-related incidents investigated, the police emphasized that such enhanced patrols and checks will continue daily to protect citizens and uphold public order throughout Cyprus.
