Woman held for stabbing husband to death in occupied Gerolakkos
A woman suspected of fatally stabbing her husband while he slept was ordered to be held for three days in the occupied areas after surrendering to police on Sunday. The incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday in Gerolakkos, according to a police investigator who briefed the Nicosia district court.
Court documents revealed that the woman, identified as E.T., used an 11-centimetre folding knife taken from the kitchen to stab her husband, T.I.T., multiple times in the neck, waist, and back while he was asleep in their bedroom. The police investigator stated that the motive was E.T.'s belief that her husband intended to steal her belongings.
The judge granted the police's request for a three-day detention order and ordered medical examinations for the suspect. The case has attracted significant public attention in the occupied areas.
