This law formalizes remote work as a voluntary employment form requiring written agreements while ensuring no adverse changes to a worker’s terms of employment or unfair treatment for refusing telework. Employers must also bear the full costs related to equipment and technical support, preventing employees from subsidizing business operations.

The legislation underscores the protection of employee privacy by restricting employer monitoring to non-intrusive methods consistent with data protection regulations. It explicitly forbids invasive surveillance such as camera use and mandates data protection impact assessments prior to implementing monitoring systems. Importantly, the law guarantees the right to disconnect, allowing remote workers to disengage from work-related communications outside working hours without penalties.

Additionally, the act promotes equal treatment for remote and on-site workers regarding workload, professional development, and union rights, addressing concerns amplified by AI-driven workplace technologies.
