The family of four-year-old Marios, who died from meningitis at Makarios hospital, has requested mourners to donate to support chemotherapy patients instead of sending wreaths. Marios suffered severe brain damage on July 14 and passed away on Friday; his funeral will be held at 5 pm on Tuesday at St Savvas' Church in Ypsonas.
Marios initially developed a fever on July 8, prompting his parents to maintain contact with his pediatrician. Despite efforts, his condition worsened, leading to a meningitis diagnosis at Limassol General Hospital. Due to deterioration, he was transferred to Makarios hospital in Nicosia, where he suffered brain death en route.
