Paphos officials discuss environmental projects and new animal shelter plans
A meeting between Environment Commissioner Elias Myrianthos and Paphos district self-government organisation president Charalambos Pittokopitis focused on key environmental and infrastructure issues. Discussions covered water resources management, sewage and biological units, and the establishment of a new animal shelter in Paphos.
Pittokopitis assured the commissioner of full support from the EOA to facilitate permits for the animal shelter. The meeting also addressed accelerating the installation and operation of the Polis Chrysochous desalination plant and securing funding for a rainwater management network. Approval has been granted for the installation of a sewage system, which will be combined with the rainwater network to reduce disruption and costs.
Both parties agreed to maintain close cooperation to improve infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of coordinated projects to minimize inconvenience to residents and repeated roadworks in the district.
