Vandals hit 10 commercial sites in Paphos overnight in apparent organized spree
Vandals targeted 10 commercial premises across Paphos district overnight Friday into Saturday, causing significant damage and theft estimated at around €4,000. The affected locations included pharmacies, fuel stations, supermarkets, kiosks, and a fruit shop in areas such as Kato Paphos, Chlorakas, Peyia, and Tala. Authorities suspect the acts were coordinated, involving four perpetrators traveling on a single motorcycle.
The Paphos Police Directorate linked this wave of vandalism to recent intensified patrols following serious attacks on food delivery couriers earlier in the week. Officials believe the vandalism was a retaliatory response to the crackdown on illegal activities in the city. Investigations remain ongoing, with police examining CCTV footage and witness statements to identify and arrest those responsible.
Assistant Police Director Michalis Nikolaou confirmed that the incidents are being treated as burglary, criminal damage, and theft cases.
