Larnaca Municipality launches dialogue on new Local Plan with district meetings in September

Larnaca Municipality has announced a series of open meetings to engage residents in its plans to revise the Local Plan, following the Interior Ministry’s call for a new urban development framework. The meetings, scheduled for September 1, 3, and 7, will take place in the Livadia, Oroklini, and central Larnaca districts, respectively, starting at 6 pm.

Representatives from ALA Planning Partnership Consultancy will present the process, timeline, and key principles of the new Local Plan, including an analysis of current planning zones and future development challenges. Residents will have the opportunity to contribute their views on urban development priorities for the city and its districts.

Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras emphasized the importance of the plan in shaping broader urban policies, including green spaces. The municipality described the initiative as a chance to collaboratively create a modern, sustainable, and human-centered city that meets the needs of its community.
