Somalia denies recognizing Northern Cyprus, reiterates support for Cyprus sovereignty
Somalia’s foreign ministry has officially denied recognizing Northern Cyprus as an independent state following a controversial social media post by Somalia’s new Parliament Speaker Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur. The ministry clarified that Somalia’s position on the Cyprus issue remains aligned with United Nations resolutions, reaffirming its respect for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus.
