Cause of Latsia house fire remains unknown after extensive kitchen damage
A fire that caused extensive damage to the kitchen of a house in Latsia on Monday morning remains of unknown origin, the fire service confirmed on Tuesday. The blaze broke out at 9:58am in an upper-floor kitchen, with firefighters from the Acropolis station arriving promptly to control the fire by 10:24am. The resident was not at home during the incident, and while the kitchen suffered major damage, smoke and heat affected other parts of the property.
Investigators ruled out electrical supply points as the cause, but no definitive source has been identified. In the same 24-hour period, the fire service responded to 24 emergency calls, including six fires, demonstrating ongoing vigilance across the region.
